C9 petroleum resin is a petroleum by-productof pyrolysis C9 fraction which is produced by pre-treatment,polymerization and distillation processes. It is not a high polymerbut a low polymer molecular weight between 300-3000. It has thecharacteristics of low acid value, good miscibility, water,ethanoland chemical resistance, the chemical stability against acid, thegood adjustment of viscosity and thermal stability. Generally, 9petroleum resin is not used alone, but as promoters, regulators,modifiers used with otherresin.

Applications:

A. PaintsIndustry: In paint industry mainly use the high softening point ofC9 petroleum resin which can increase the gloss of paint andimprove the adhesion, the hardness and the resistance ability of acid and alkali.

B. Tireand Rubber Industry: in tire and rubber industry, low softeningpoint of C9 petroleum resin is mainly used which has a goodmiscibility with natural rubber particles, and little affect onrubber vulcanization. Adding in rubber and tires, petroleum resincan increase the adhesion and the reinforcement and can also playas softener.

C.Adhesives Industry:

C9petroleum resin having good adhesion, added in the process ofproducing adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesives can improvethe adhesive bond strength, acid resistance, alkali resistance andwater resistance, and also can reduce production costs effectively.D. Ink Industry:

In inkindustry mainly use the high softening point of C9 petroleum resinwhich can reach the effect of show color, andbrightening and improve printing performance,etc.

F. othersPetroleum resin having certain characteristic of unsaturated, canbe used as paper glue, plastic modifieretc.
